New Delhi [India], May 25 (ANI): All-party delegation member and AIADMK MP M Thambidurai on Sunday emphasised the critical role of the delegation in exposing Pakistan's terrorist activities on the global stage.
Ahead of his delegation's departure to France to counter global misinformation and highlight India's zero-tolerance policy on terrorism, the AIADMK MP highlighted the necessity of revealing Pakistan's actions, which he described as a threat not only to India but to the world, underscoring India's democratic values as a counterpoint.
'Our honourable Prime Minister and Defence Minister, Home Minister, all formed a delegation to send to various countries to expose Pakistan terrorism that had been affecting our Indian citizens. There were several illegal camps going on that are dangerous for this world, not only India. Even the Minister of Pakistan himself accepted that training was done for the terrorist people,' Thambidurai stated.
He further expressed hope that the global community would accept India's views, support its stance, and persuade others to stand against such activities by Pakistan.
'It is our duty to expose these activities of Pakistan, as they are against democracy. India is a democratic country...therefore it is our bound duty as elected people... as a Members of Parliament, we have a good opportunity to expose these activities of Pakistan... I hope the various countries accept our views and appreciate and support our Indian cause and also persuade them to stand up against Pakistan's illegal activities,' he added.
The AIADMK MP Thambidurai is part of the delegation led by BJP MP Ravi Shankar Prasad and consists of Daggubati Purandeswari of TDP, Priyanka Chaturvedi of Shiv Sena-UBT, Ghulam Ali Khatana of BJP, Dr. Amar Singh of Congress, Samik Bhattacharya of BJP, former Union Minister MJ Akbar and Ambassador Pankaj Saran.
The delegation will visit Italy, Denmark, the United Kingdom, Belgium and Germany after France.
Earlier, delegation leader Prasad emphasised that India believes in peace and harmony but will take strong action against terrorism.
He highlighted that the security of every Indian citizen is the government's top priority. Further, he said that terrorism is a global issue, with Pakistan being a major hub of terrorist activities.
Speaking to ANI, Prasad said, 'I am going to present India's strong side in European countries. Together, we will say only two things effectively--we believe in peace and harmony but if there is a terrorist attack on Indians from across the border, then there will be Operation Sindoor. The security of every Indian citizen is the responsibility of this government and today terrorism is a cancer which is troubling the whole world, a big center of which is Pakistan...'
He also lauded Congress leaders on the delegation for their role in the mission abroad and acknowledged the cooperation of opposition leaders participating in the mission. 'Congress ke neta bahar gaye hai, accha kaam kar rahe hai,' he said. (ANI)
